Day 4
The Power of Passion
Passion is a powerful force that, when infused with and potential; create energy, excitement, and unwavering determination. Passion fuels innovation and creativity and is the basis for many discoveries. We all have heard of the ‘nutty professor’ who refuses to give up on his idea because he believes it will change the world!
Passionate people can make a tremendous difference and motivate others because passion is contagious. It drives us to strive for our goals despite the challenges we may face. It’s the grit behind belief that refuses to give up.
Passion is an intense emotional connection to a specific interest, and when combined with focus, brings about a flow state of being “in the zone” or in flow. It provides the energy needed to persevere in the face of setbacks of obstacles.
Passionate people put their heart and soul into their ideas, sacrificing for the sake of excellence. Sometimes it can cause a passionate individual to skim on self-care and sleep because it is a powerful driver that doesn’t like to give up. Passion acts as a catalyst for growth and self-improvement. It fuels motivation and drive and brings a sense of fulfillment. Aligning your passion with intentional action will have a positive effect on your own life and in others.
A Champion Possesses Passion.
A Champion operates with genuine passion, a burning desire, a will to win, & a heart to be the best.
The apostle Paul was a spiritual champion. He said, “I run to win….I do not fight like a man beating the air!” In other words, Paul was passionate. He was purpose driven. His focus was on the Lord. He wrote in Philippians. 1:23, For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
Vernon J. McGee wrote, “that the highest desire than can possess any heart is the longing to see God.” Spiritual champions possess that burning desire.
